Nicholas is a Kenyan-born barber and founder of Goodways Barbershop, whose journey began at age ten when he gave his first haircut — inspired by a picture of MC Hammer he stumbled across on the cover of Ebony magazine. After immigrating to the U.S. in 2005, he graduated from Bayview Barber College in 2008 during the peak of the financial crisis. In the midst of economic uncertainty, Nicholas saw an opportunity to create a space where men, women, and children could sit back, relax, and experience world-class grooming in a tranquil environment.He opened Goodways Barbershop in Rohnert Park in 2011 and has been serving his community with that same intention ever since. For Nicholas, cutting hair is about more than the service itself — it’s about the feeling people get when they walk through the door: the confidence, the connection, the energy. To him, barbering isn’t just a craft — it’s a way of life.
